On behalf of an accounting firm, Trey Wells and John McCall secured an affirmance from the Alabama Supreme Court of the trial court’s order compelling the case to arbitration. The case involved allegations of accounting malpractice in connection with the accounting firm’s allegedly disclosing “personal confidential financial information” to plaintiff’s professional corporation, which allegedly resulted in plaintiff being ousted as a shareholder/employee. The Supreme Court, after conducting oral argument, concluded that the arbitration clause was enforceable despite the plaintiff’s arguments that he was not a signatory and the language of the clause was insufficiently broad to cover his dispute.
