The plaintiff proffered expert testimony in support of her theory that the defendant breached the standard of care by operating at the T8-9 level instead of the intended T9-10 level. The defense presented expert testimony that the failure to localize the correct level was due to artifact and anatomic variance, and not a breach of the standard of care. The jury returned a defense verdict after brief deliberation.
