Scott Salter and Bennett White obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an orthopedic surgeon in a case involving endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery. The plaintiff unfortunately suffered permanent injury to the median nerve in his dominant hand, which impacted almost all activities of his daily life. Plaintiff presented testimony from a Duke-trained hand surgeon. The defense countered with an orthopedic surgeon who trained at UC-San Diego Medical Center and completed a fellowship in hand surgery at Curtis National Hand Center in Maryland. After a one-week trial involving multiple witnesses, the jury returned a verdict on behalf of the orthopedic surgeon and his practice group.
