Starnes Davis Florie is pleased to welcome Kenny Keith and Brandon Jackson to the firm.
Kenny Keith joins our health care practice group, where her work is devoted to regulatory compliance and risk management issues affecting health care facilities and providers. Prior to joining the firm, Kenny represented a broad range of health care clients in both litigation and regulatory matters, including those in the long-term care and senior housing industries. Before practicing law, Kenny worked as a Registered Nurse in Birmingham rehabilitation facilities and served on the faculty at the UAB School of Nursing. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a clinical focus in hospital epidemiology and infection control. Her dual background in nursing and law uniquely equips her to assist clients with survey issues, plans of correction, quality assurance, and informal dispute resolution. She is also experienced in appeals involving the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and state agencies such as the Alabama Medicaid Agency.
Brandon Jackson focuses his practice on defending malpractice claims against long-term care providers and advising health care clients on complex regulatory compliance and risk management matters. In addition to being an attorney, Brandon is a licensed nursing home administrator and brings practical, real-world experience from his work in a skilled nursing facility. He has extensive knowledge of the Alabama certificate of need and licensure process, provider contracts and policies, federal and state survey compliance, and billing and collections. Brandon also advises clients on a wide range of employment-related legal issues, including employee discipline, discrimination, retaliation, and harassment, and provides counsel on corporate governance and transactional matters, including acquisitions.
We are thrilled to have Kenny and Brandon join our team and look forward to the experience and expertise they bring to our health care clients.
