Starnes Davis Florie LLP is pleased to announce the addition of four highly talented associates to its expanding team: Sam Cochran, John Hemmings, Anna Katherine Sherman, and Drew Tucker.
Sam Cochran will devote his practice to civil litigation with a primary focus on commercial litigation, complex business litigation, NCAA compliance matters, and internal investigations. While attending the University of Alabama School of Law, Sam served as Executive Editor and Junior Editor of the Alabama Law Review. As a Competition Finalist, he was awarded Outstanding Brief at the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. He received the Judge Walter P. Gewin Best Brief Award, was appointed to Order of the Barristers, and was a Quarterfinalist at the University of Alabama Moot Court Competition. Sam received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.A. from Washington & Lee University.
John Hemmings will devote his practice to civil litigation with a focus on medical malpractice defense and professional liability. While attending law school, John was a member of the Alabama Trial Advocacy Team, the Federalist Society, the Law and Economics Society, and was appointed to Order of the Barristers. John received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
Anna Katherine Sherman’s practice is focused on complex business litigation, professional liability, and municipal and government litigation. While attending law school, Anna Katherine served as the Lead Online Editor for the Washington & Lee Law Review. She also served as Class President of the Student Bar Association her 1L, 2L, and 3L year, was the Vice Chair of the Moot Court Executive Board, and worked as Master of Ceremonies for Phi Alpha Delta. She was the Winner, Finalist in the Mediation Competition, Runner-Up and Finalist in the Mock Trial Competition, Semifinalist in the Client Counseling Competition, and the Brief Semifinalist and Oral Advocacy Quarterfinalist in the Davis Moot Court Competition. Anna Katherine received her law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law and her B.A. and B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
Drew Tucker’s practice is devoted to civil litigation with a primary focus on medical malpractice litigation. While attending law school, Drew served as a Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review, President of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and was a member of the Carol Andrews ABA Moot Court Team. He also received various honors and awards to include, the M. Leigh Harrison Award, Order of the Barristers, Hugo L. Black Scholar, Edward M. Friend, Jr. Award, was a Finalist at the Alabama Moot Court Competition, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Drew received his law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
