Allison Adams and Billy Bates teamed with Tennessee counsel to obtain a defense verdict on behalf of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (“CRNA”) following a four day jury trial in Jackson, Tennessee. The case involved the ordering of pain medication in the post anesthesia care unit for a patient following gynecological surgery. Approximately one hour after the administration of the pain medication, the patient suffered an arrest that resulted in damage to her optic nerve and legal blindness. The plaintiff contended that the dosage of pain medication ordered by the CRNA was too high. After hearing testimony from nine witnesses, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the CRNA.
