Trip Umbach, Sybil Newton and Stephen Still secured a favorable ruling from the Alabama Supreme Court affirming a Rule 12 dismissal for our client on Tort of Outrage and Wrongful Discharge in Violation of Public Policy claims. The Supreme Court refused to extend the Tort of Outrage to a claim where the plaintiff alleged she was fired for refusing her employer’s request to lie to a government investigator and declined Plaintiff’s invitation to create a public policy exception to the employment-at-will doctrine in Alabama.
