On May 30, 2023, Breanna Young and Averie Jones obtained a favorable ruling from the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit affirming the district court’s grant of summary judgment in our client’s favor. The lawsuit involved Section 1981 claims that a water works board discriminated against a customer based on his race by denying his request for additional water and sewer taps. The Eleventh Circuit affirmed the district court’s decision in full, finding that the Plaintiff was both unable to identify a comparator and to show that he was prevented from receiving services.
