In the first civil jury trial in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama since the COVID-19 pandemic began, attorneys Alfred H. Perkins, Jr. and Amber M. Whillock obtained a defense verdict in favor of its Fortune 500 client. The case involved allegations of an unsafe condition on the defendant’s premises which allegedly caused serious and permanent injuries to the plaintiff. Specifically, plaintiff alleged that due to the defendant’s negligence, she would be required to undergo pain management for her neck for the rest of her life. Plaintiff requested of the jury a seven-figure verdict in her favor. Defendant disputed Plaintiff’s allegations, and after a 4-day trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of Defendant.
