On June 3, 2026, Scott Salter presented a webinar to the Medical Association of the State of Alabama on “Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Practice.”  As AI tools are rapidly integrated into clinical practice, they are influencing diagnostic, therapeutic, and documentation processes.  As these tools are implemented, physicians need a clear understanding of the legal risks associated with AI use, including professional liability exposure, documentation standards, informed consent considerations, and the potential impact on the evolving standard of care. The program addressed this evolving area of clinical practice and provided legal insights and practical risk mitigation strategies to support the safe, ethical, and defensible integration of AI into patient care.
