Wright & Trimm Obtain Defense Verdict in Eight Day Trial
On May 13, 2009, following an eight day trial in Shelby County, Mike Wright and Jackie Trimm obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an Emergency Room Physician. The case involved the death of an infant following evaluation and discharge from the Emergency Room. The plaintiff alleged that the child should have been retained, either by admission or prolonged observation, due to unstable vital signs at time of discharge. The defendant argued that child was not unstable, that vital signs were in appropriate range under the circumstances of the illness, and that he met all criteria for discharge.
