Sellers & Reese Obtain Defense Verdict in Colbert County Medical Malpractice Trial
Randy Sellers and Joseph Reese obtained a defense verdict on June 10, 2011 in favor of an internal medicine physician after a four day trial in Colbert County, Alabama. The case arose out of allegations by the plaintiff that the physician failed to timely diagnose and treat temporal arteritis during the plaintiff's hospitalization. The plaintiff further alleged that she suffered complete blindness in both eyes as a result of the failure to timely diagnose and treat her temporal arteritis. It was admitted by the defendant that earlier steroids would have prevented the plaintiff's blindness. After hearing all of the evidence, the jury returned a verdict for the physician finding him not liable for the plaintiff's blindness and other claimed injuries.
