Professional Licensing Defense

Overview

The lawyers of Starnes Davis Florie have considerable experience in defending all types of professionals in malpractice lawsuits. In many of these cases, licensing issues arise as the result of a grievance filed with the relevant licensing board by the party who initiates the malpractice claim. Over the years, the firm’s attorneys have defended a wide array of professionals before licensing boards and in administrative law hearings. The firm’s experience ranges from assisting professionals with drafting responses to the administrative board regarding minor complaints to helping professionals maintain their license when serious charges are alleged. The firm is also experienced in handling  appeals from adverse decisions by a licensing board.

The suspension or revocation of a license is a serious matter. The attorneys of Starnes Davis Florie will walk the client through this difficult process by aggressively investigating these claims and giving the client an objective opinion about their unique situation.  Utilizing this approach, the firm’s attorneys can help the client make an informed decision about how to proceed with the respective board. If the case against the client is strong, Starnes’ attorneys can help determine ways to mitigate the damage and seek lesser sanctions. If the case against the client is weak, Starnes’ attorneys can put forth a strong defense at the hearing or negotiate a favorable settlement.
